How to keep a routine during school closures

Daily Schedule for children at home due to Coronavirus

With many sporting activities taking a pause to enable “social distancing”, many parents around the world are wondering… “What do I do with my children? All day. Every day..!”

Maybe we can help? We know kids love routine. For those that come to our classes, you’ll be used to the structure we have for each class:

  1. Stretching
  2. Running (for older ages)
  3. Obstacle course
  4. Flash cards (for younger ages)
  5. Three sports activities
  6. Warm-down game

Knowing what’s coming up next provides much needed reassurance for children. This is even more important during these turbulent times. Which is why we’ve put together a handy daily schedule. Print it out and put it on your fridge so you, and your kids, know how the day is going to pan out.

Obviously we think it’s really important to get children active, so have suggested to start the day with some activity – get the wriggles out of them before expecting them to sit still! In our next post, we’ll be sharing some ideas on what you can do during the activity times.

We can’t promise it will stop the fighting or 438 requests for a snack… but hopefully it helps. For those looking for a lower ink version to print out, here’s one…
